Educational film, June 2020 : Acquisition of Tiffany by LVMH

The integration of a legendary brand into one of the largest luxury product groups.

Everyone remembers that exquisite moment in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” when Audrey Hepburn stands in front of a window of the legendary jeweller Tiffany’s, pulls a pastry out of her bag and starts eating breakfast on the sidewalk.

 

In the coming months, LVMH, the immense luxury products group headed by Bernard Arnault, will be acquiring this “house” in every sense of the word to integrate it into the 25 others the group already owns, many of which are centuries old.

 

Many have questioned the asking price for the ransaction as well as the value of the shares, perhaps finding them overvalued.

 

Professor Jacquet looked at the books in order to draw sound and logical financial conclusions. Of course, he also wanted to tell the story behind the finance, and there is a lot of it.
