Operational decision-making includes a financial component that every manager must understand and master the basic techniques in order to co-construct a value-creating decision with the finance function.

The purpose of this platform is to promote this transversal process and to improve the efficiency of the interaction between operations and finance. This section provides an understanding of financial rationality and the techniques for optimizing the decision.

It will also allow to learn how to handle the basic (and advanced) tools of finance in order to appreciate the financial realism of projects and decisions as soon as they emerge, and to dedicate the interaction with the finance function to the optimization of their performance.

Transversal Module 1. Financial performance

The concept of performance is much more relevant than any financial indicator, such as earnings or profitability. The word contains a sports oriented element which suggests a much more comprehensive and sustainable reality.

This module is devoted to the relationship between growth (or investment), performance and value creation (or destruction).
